Review the list of Port Chicago Sailors to verify that your family member is included and confirm that they were among those exonerated.
Obtain your family member’s DD214 military service records from archives.gov. You will need to provide proof of relation, such as a death certificate and/or birth certificate, to request the records.
Complete Form DD-149 to request a correction of military records. This form is used to apply for an upgrade to the discharge status.
